Newcomer & Resident’s Guide

The State of Florida requires that your vehicle be registered and that you obtain a Driver’s License within 30 days of becoming a resident. The Indian River County Tax Collector’s Office near the Vero Beach airport can help you accomplish many newcomer activities at once, offering:

  • Florida Driver’s License for residents transferring their license from another state, including eye examinations (road tests by appointment only at this office);
  • Vehicle Registration for license plates; and
  • Voter’s Registration.

Across the hall, at the Property Appraiser’s Office, any Homestead Exemption information is available.

An Oceanside County Complex office has been opened on the Barrier Island at 3003 Cardinal Drive, Suite C in Vero Beach.
