Old Winter Beach Road Project

NOTE:  Lane Closures may occur 8-5:30, Monday-Friday.  Please be cautious with workers present during these hours.

The Town of Indian River Shores has undertaken a major project to improve stormwater drainage and resurface Old Winter Beach Road west of State Road A1A to Jungle Trail.

Beginning in 2017, the Town applied for and received grants to help fund this undertaking, with timelines for completion estimated by the early 2020.

The goal is to ensure safe hurricane evacuation as well as provide protection from stormwater runoff entering the Indian River Lagoon, a highly diverse shallow water National Estuary of Significance.

Weekly progress meetings for contractors and officials only will be held each Thursday onsite commencing April 12.  Please click here for more information.  Should there be cause to cancel a meeting, notification will be placed on the Town Bulletin Board at 6001 Fred Tuerk Drive 48 hours in advance.

Please note that residents are not allowed within any part of the construction area.  We respectfully ask that you not interrupt the work in progress.  Safety is a primary concern, and a very tight timeline to complete the project must be maintained.
